My Dragon types for me, sort of. I just realized after years of blogging, that there is a tool that I find indispensable in my work as a writer. That tool is Dragon Naturally Speaking by Nuance.
Today I’m going to try to convince you that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is worth every penny that you will pay for. I can say this even though the program can be irritating at times. In fact, you should pig it up for yourself.

Dragon Naturally Speaking
I am writing this piece with Dragon as I carefully pig out my words. I am not going to look at my computer screen. To do this entire post. Whatever mistakes are made were not done by me, as I. Usually carefully pig outs any mistakes that Dragon makes. I apologize right now. If you have trouble understanding some of the things that Dragon pigs to write for me.
First, the good points.
Dragon Naturally Speaking has increased my writing speed at least five times. Like aj R Tolkien, I’m a two finger typing Master. With Dragon, my output is very, very fast. I pig away at my words and go back to connect the ones that I misspelled. With Dragon NaturallySpeaking, I can get a lot more work done in as much less time.
Now to the negative points.
I’ve been using Dragon Naturally Speaking for more than four years. The program is supposed to pig up your accent, told and the way you speak naturally. In general and adjust itself so that your speed and accuracy will get better all the time. Hah exhalation point, I say.
Have you noticed how many times I’ve used the word pig? Do you notice that it’s always pig, not PICK? I’ve not done any spellchecking on this post. As I’ve said, just so you can see the trouble I go through for a much greater speed. In my words per minute pace.
A major beef I have with Dragon. Is that I pause for a few seconds, or sometimes even take a breath, it starts a new sentence for me. Like, it’s just a done. Pig pig pig, I give up.
Is Dragon Naturally Speaking. Worth the money? Yes, every dollar. I have a friend who gets about 98% of accuracy from her Dragon, and she couldn’t live without its. Her output is more than six times a regular typing speed, and she types with all 8 to 10 fingers. She can do about six pages a day in her time. And then leaves her plenty of time to pig up her kids after school.
I don’t know of any other similar program Dragon Naturally Speaking, but I wood pig this up every time. Indispensable? Yes, but with some reservations.
If you pig an Apple off a tree and drop it, you will have to pig it up before the pig gets it. This should only be one pig in that last sentence. Oh well.
