I’m a stay at home Dad, trying my best to earn a bit of money online and also keep the house clean. As you might expect, I’m not as good as I’d like to be, and I hear about it. For many people, they learned to clean as they grew up, starting as children. Not me. I missed that training somehow, and now I’ve come to a hard realization. Cleaning doesn’t make sense. I don’t like it, and my efforts show.
I’ve come to learn some techniques that have made house cleaning a bit easier. I’d like to share them with you. They will make your life a bit easier, so you can get back to doing the important things, like blogging or reading.
-Clean your bathroom mirrors with vinegar and some newspaper. They will come out clean and shiny.
-Rinse your plate after you have eaten something on it. Run water to cover the bottom. This will make washing them or putting them into the dishwasher that much easier.
-Fill up a cup of water and some vinegar and put it in the microwave. Run it on High for 3 minutes. All of the dried gunk on the walls will just wipe clean off in a jiffy.
-Fill one of those soap brush handle thingies with half dish soap and half vinegar. Each time you take a shoer, wipe down the walls with this brush. Then rinse the walls. Clean and shiny walls every time.
-Here’s an easy way to clean that ceiling fan. Slip a pillowcase over the blades, one at a time, and use the inside of the case to wipe them clean. Dirt stays inside the case rather than falling to the floor.
-Use an old sock dipped in a vinegar and warm water solution to quickly clean dirt and grime away from your Venetian blinds.
-Use a coffee filter to clean your high price television screens, computer and lap top screens. They’re lint-free and inexpensive.
-For all of us coffee and tea drinkers, those stains in your ceramic mug can be scrubbed out using a bit of orange peel sprinkled with salt. Rinse when finished.
-If you make your bed as soon as you leave it, you’ll be much less likely to crawl back into it until bed time.
-Baby wipes are a great and non-toxic all around cleaning cloth. Great for spills on carpets, picking up spills in the kitchen and the occasional throwing up by small animals or babies.
-Dishwasher. Ever wonder whether those dishes are clean yet? Take a small glass and stand it up in the back on the top row in the upright position. Now, when you open the dishwasher, if it’s filled with water, the dishes are clean.
That should be enough for you to clean your house a bit more quickly and get back to your online business. If you don’t have an online business, keep reading after this word from Joel and the Bots.
